Victorian Bioenergy Business Breakfasts

Progressing the Development of Biomass Thermal Energy & more ...

The VBN was established in 2008 and aims to:

  •     Promote bioenergy
  •     Share information on bioenergy across government departments and with industry.
  •     Collaborate and develop the bioenergy industry and avoid duplication across government.
  •     Engage with bioenergy industry
  •     Work towards defining government's role in the bioenergy industry.
  •     Be a credible source of information on bioenergy

The VBN hosted its seventh business event on the 14 February at Sustainability Victoria where 60 plus members discussed the need for the creation of a Biomass Thermal Energy working group/association.

VBN members heard association host offerings from the Waste Management Association of Australia, the Firewood Association of Australia and Bioenergy Australia.

A facilitated discussion drew out that there was great interest in developing such a group but more research on the market opportunity and experience elsewhere was needed.

Several VBN members also presented on bioenergy technologies, projects and solutions. In order of proceedings the presentations in the downloads section were delivered during the event.
